Ride the CAMBA Bike Trails All Year Round

The Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA) is responsible for developing and managing our region’s mountain bike trails that span over 130 miles, on top of an additional 200 miles of mapped gravel trails. Every trail resides in and around the majestic Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, making it the premier offroad riding destination in the Upper Midwest! It’s also exciting to note that Lakewoods Resort also sits in Wisconsin’s Northwoods, nestled in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest.

Winter

Embrace the cold and enjoy some stellar Wisconsin-style fat tire biking on the designated CAMBA winter trails. The association grooms and maintains over 70 miles of winter trails (December–March) with varying levels of difficulty. Enjoy a mostly easy near-wilderness experience on the new Gordy’s View trail in Seely, or take it up a notch on the moderate Backside Westside Esker Winter Bike Trail in Cable.

Summer

All CAMBA Trails are open for the summer season! Take on the Short & Fat Trail, which serves as the world-class route used during the annual Chequamegon Mountain Bike Festival in the fall. You’ll journey through the woods, tackling various terrain types and hills. Prepare for the world-famous Fat Bike Birkie, testing your strength and endurance, starting at the Birke Trailhead. We highly recommend following the CAMBA Trail Guide for directions and trail locations!

Fat biking is for everyone, from seasoned riders to families looking for a little outdoor adventure. We encourage you to get out and enjoy the well-kept trails and bask in the natural beauty of the Wisconsin Northwoods. Come prepared with nutritious snacks, hydration packs, and always wear a helmet. All CAMBA bike trails are marked with distinctive blue-and-white signs, so keep an eye out during your next visit! Stay in the midst of all the mountain biking action with Lakewoods Resort on Lake Namakagon. You’ll love both our outdoor and indoor spaces, from an award-winning golf course to unique cabins. Check our year-round availability and book online today!
